Where can you find the best restaurants and cafes?
It can be quite confusing to find the best places to eat and drink in Marrakesh - and many of the good places are hidden well out of the way. I have therefore compiled a list of some of my favourites, which I hope you will love as much as I am.
Check out their delicious photos, menus etc. via the links to their Instagram profiles that I have inserted in the brackets.
Cafes in and around the median
Le Jardin (@lejardinmarrakech) is a small, cozy cafe located close to the shop Max & Jan. Le Jardin is related to @Cafedeepices.
They serve delicious juices, wonderful salads etc.
If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the souk - without leaving it - the restaurant Nomad (@nomadmarrakech) on the roof of the Place des Epices is a good choice for lunch. If you prefer to soak up impressions with both feet on the ground, stay at Cafe des Epices - also on Place des Epices. Cafe des Epices (@cafedesepices) is open from the early hours, so it's also a nice place to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere (and the morning coffee or tea) while the locals get ready for another day at the market.
One of my favorites in Medianen for sunset, drinks and local dishes is Terrasse des epices (@terrasdesepices), which is close to Riad Bliss Marrakech (@Riadblisshotelmarrakech)
Another option, located on the border of the new district of Gueliz, is Le Grand Cafe del a Poste (@legrandcafedelapostemarrakech), located in an old post office. In addition to the food being fantastic, you feel back in the 1920s or in a French cafe, as the premises are completely unique.
Finally, I have to highlight Restaurant and Bar El Fenn (@elfennmarrakech), which is owned by Richard Branson's (Virgin Air/group) sister. This place is an absolute MUST on a trip to Marrakech and the perfect place for a sunset drink followed by dinner overlooking the city.
