Casa W's insider tips on Marrakech - where to eat

Casa W's insider tips om Marrakech - her skal du spise

Where can you find the best restaurants and cafes?

Finding the best places to eat and drink in Marrakesh can be quite overwhelming - and many of the good places are well hidden. So I've put together a list of some of my favorites, which I hope you'll love as much as I do.

Check out their delicious pictures, menus, etc. via the links to their Instagram profiles that I have inserted in brackets.

Cafes in and around the median

Le Jardin (@lejardinmarrakech) is a small, cozy cafe located close to the Max & Jan store. Le Jardin is related to @Cafedeepices.

They serve delicious juices, wonderful salads, etc.

If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the souk - without leaving it - the Nomad (@nomadmarrakech) restaurant on the roof of Place des Epices is a good choice for lunch. If you prefer to soak up the atmosphere with both feet on the ground, you should stay at Cafe des Epices - also on Place des Epices. Cafe des Epices (@cafedesepices) is open from the morning, so it's also a nice place to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere (and your morning coffee or tea) while the locals get ready for another day at the market.

Les Jardin de Lotus, located in a shack close to Bliss Riad, is good both during the day and in the evening. I have only been there in the evening.

Other options I have been recommended but have not visited myself are: Le Salama close to the large square Jemaa-El-Fnaa, Folk Marrakech, La Trattoria, Le Table du Souk, Dar Dar Rooftop and Atay Cafe.

One of my favorites in the Median for sunset, drinks and local dishes is Terrasse des epices (@terrassedesepices), which is located close to Riad Bliss Marrakech (@Riadblisshotelmarrakech).

Another option, located on the border of the new district of Gueliz, is Le Grand Cafe del a Poste (@legrandcafedelapostemarrakech), which is located in an old post office. In addition to the food being amazing, you feel like you’re back in the 1920s or in a French cafe, as the premises are completely unique.

Finally, I have to highlight Restaurant and Bar El Fenn (@elfennmarrakech), owned by Richard Branson's (Virgin Air/group) sister. This place is an absolute MUST on a trip to Marrakech and the perfect place for a sunset drink followed by dinner with a view of the city.
