Cotton pillows from Mali

Bogolan is the name of the hand-woven West African textile made of 100% cotton, which is sewn together from narrow woven strips. The intricate patterns are drawn freehand with special fermented clay collected from the riverbed. When the clay is dry, it is washed off, revealing the beautiful patterns. Hence the fabric's English name "Mud Cloth".

The colour combinations and patterns are unique from product to product, and variations in shades therefore occur.
