Casa W is now 6 weeks old...
...and it is therefore high time for an update on how the start-up has gone and not least what I have learned along the way.
I hope you would like to read along.
Regarding my previous jobs in Asia, I have experience with purchasing, CSR, supplier follow-up etc. But I have never had the role of SoMe manager, logistics manager or photographer before.
I therefore have, among other things, learned:
# That it is a good idea to invest in a light tent (I also know what's in now...), which can be used to take the nice pictures with a white/black background that the big brands use.
# When you have invested in such a light tent, it is important to work with natural light instead of the light from a lamp, which makes all the pictures a little yellow...
# That it requires a lot of image material to be able to keep SoMe (that is, Instragram and Facebook) going.
#That it is a really bad idea to use foam granules as filling in the fine vintage poufs... that is, unless you fill it in an old duvet cover before it is filled in the pouf. In any case, if you want to avoid having foam all over the house when you finish packing...
But...
# I have also learned how much network, friends and family mean in a start-up phase. How cool it is when they cheer you on, get customers or lend a hand in the warehouse.
#I've learned that you can do more than you think - by the way, I've learned a lot in these 6 weeks - and how I've become good at many things already, even though I started from 0.
#I've learned that you don't need to hire a graphic designer or a marketing agency to get started with advertising and the production of the most delicious posts. There are so many fine tools that can help you on your way - e.g. Canva which has become my new friend.
